NDLEA seizes N2.5bn worth of drugs in 6 months

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) disclosed on Wednesday that over 227kg of drugs  worth N2.5 bn have been seized at the Murtala Moha,,ed International Airport in the past six month

NDLEA’s  Airport Commander, Hamza Umar, said 72.350kg of cannabis, 46.25kg of methamphetamine, 43.505kg of cocaine, 33.15kg of heroin and 31.8kg of ephedrine were seized in the period.

“Male suspects are 53 while females are 10. The command also recorded two abandoned seizures within the period under review. The first was 16kg of heroin in April and 160g of methamphetamine in June,” he added.
