Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday said that it would have been more honourable for former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo to sit back home as a former president and political leader whose home should be a political pilgrim rather than parade himself all over the country as an indispensable ruler and party leader.
IGP Risks Jail Over Alleged Contempt
A former senator representing Anambra North senatorial district, Alphonsus Igbeke, has commenced contempt proceedings at a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja seeking to commit the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar , to prison for refusing to release his (Igbeke’s) vehicle in alleged breach of court order.

The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed the former Kogi State governor, Abubakar Audu ’s appeal, thereby clearing the way for his fresh arraignment. In a judgement delivered by Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, the Supreme Court held that the Court of Appeal was wrong to consider the questions referred to it for determination after being aware from the records of Appeal that a nolleprosequi had been filed. “This is so because there is/was nothing before the trial court, so there would be nothing for the Court of Appeal to send back.
