The battle for the control of the APC acronym has taken an interesting dimension with the posters of one of the contenders, African Peoples Congress, flooding the streets of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The development came a few hours after another rival APC, All Peoples Congress of Nigeria, announced its intention to commence a legal action next week (Monday) to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission from considering the registration request submitted by the merger opposition parties under the aegis of All Progressives Congress. Court awards N4m against police for shooting subsidy protesters
A Lagos High Court, Ikeja on Friday awarded N4m as compensation to four protesters who were shot by the dismissed Divisional Police Officer of Pencinema, Segun Fabunmi, during the protest against subsidy removal in January 2012.
