BASG Seeks $171m For Power Project

The Bauchi State Government is seeking a loan of 171 million US dollars for the construction of the Yankari power project, Alhaji Yakubu Kirfi, Commissioner for Power and Energy, has said. He made the disclosure while defending the ministry's budget for the year before the State House of Assembly Committee on Budget and Appropriation in Bauchi. Kirfi said that the loan, which would be sought from Chinese Bank through the Federal Government, required the state to contribute only 15 per cent of the sum.
